Dr. Al Rabanera is a dedicated educator who passionately champions at-promise students at La Vista High School in Fullerton, California. His career is defined by his commitment to nurturing student potential and fostering a lifelong love of learning.

Throughout his tenure, Dr. Rabanera has served as Math Department Chair, STEAM Lead Teacher, and Student Activities Advisor, demonstrating leadership that extends well beyond the classroom. He currently leads an innovative Academy program recognized with a 2023 Golden Bell Award for its integration of Social Emotional Academic Development, College and Career Readiness, and Restorative Practices—a model that prepares students to thrive beyond high school.

Dr. Rabanera’s influence reaches beyond his district through his leadership on national educational boards and committees, where he contributes to shaping policies and frameworks that promote equity and excellence in education.

His dedication has been recognized through multiple honors, including the Horace Mann Award for Teaching Excellence in 2017 and Distinguished Alumnus recognition from Cal State Fullerton in 2018.

Dr. Rabanera earned his doctorate from the University of Southern California and continues to find joy and balance in family life with his wife, Cassandra, and their children, Nehemiah and Aurora.
