Crystal Towns
Cohort 4 Alum - 2024-2025
Crystal Towns serves as an Academic Engagement and Social Emotional Learning Officer for a K–5 school in Southfield Public Schools. With more than 25 years of experience in education, she has worked passionately as a teacher, literacy coach, and district professional development presenter, helping to shape meaningful learning experiences for both students and educators.
Throughout her career, Crystal has pursued growth through a variety of professional certifications and learning opportunities, yet she considers herself first and foremost a natural seeker—someone who is always curious, reflective, and open to new ideas that strengthen her practice and impact.
Her work is grounded in a belief that academic success and emotional well-being go hand in hand, and she is dedicated to supporting environments where students and teachers can thrive together.
Outside of her professional life, Crystal finds joy in reading, traveling, organizing, and listening to smooth jazz, activities that allow her to recharge and stay inspired. Her balance of passion, curiosity, and calm presence continues to guide her as both an educator and lifelong learner.
