Jill Merolla
Jill is entering her 32nd year as an educator (10 years elementary teacher, 13 years elementary/middle school principal, 8 years-District administrator) and has worked in the same school District, Warren City Schools the entire tenure. She even attended WCS as a child for 13 years and she is truly invested in her Warren community. Her current position is very diverse. As Supervisor of Community Outreach and Grant Development, she serves as a District representative for many community boards and has written and continue to write numerous grants totally over millions of dollars to support programming for the District: SEL training for teachers and administrators, 21st CCLC afterschool programs, homeless/foster care families, and fine arts programming through our collaboration with the Kennedy Center for Fine and Performing Arts. She also supervises all the School Counselors and School Community Liaisons working to connect local resources to support our families. With her SEL work, she has collaborated with CASEL attending numerous trainings, conducted a CASEL webinar in 2016, and presented Warren's mindfulness work at the Reno CASEL National Convening. She has also presented District work at George Washington University in Washington DC at the National School Psychologist Public Policy Forum in 2015. The work of SEL and Mindfulness found her in 2010 and she felt like she had come home as human being and as an educator. She looks forward to learning and contributing in this wonderful year long venture.
