Julia Hellmich

Julia Hellmich (she/her) identifies as a counselor, teacher, learner, dancer, yogi, mindfulness practitioner, tea lover, world traveler, and public education enthusiast and leader. She currently is the Managing Director for KIPP Forward at KIPP DC Public Schools. In this role, she is lucky to lead a large group of practitioners and experts who support thousands of KIPP DC high school students and alumni on their college and career journeys, and beyond. Prior to KIPP, Julia worked for Friendship Public Charter Schools as a high school Special Education teacher and counselor. She is from Ossining, NY and received an undergraduate degree from Cornell University and a graduate degree from George Mason University. In her spare time, Julia can be found taking walks with her husband, at the ballet studio preparing for upcoming performances with Gin Dance Company, volunteering with Education is Forever, or puttering with one of her craft projects.
