Linda Wittmann
Cohort 4 Alum - 2024-2025
Dr. Linda Wittmann is a lifelong learner, educator, and advocate for mindfulness and wellness in education. Passionate about nurturing young minds and fostering a love for learning, she strives to empower students to become critical thinkers, compassionate individuals, and confident contributors to the world around them.
Her teaching career began in 1994 as a middle school English Language Arts teacher in East Hanover, New Jersey. Over the years, she has taught grades 7–12 across a range of settings, including basic skills, special education, alternative high school, honors, and Advanced Placement. While teaching and supporting her sons through their K–12 education, Linda earned an Ed.S. in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University and an Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from Liberty University, while also serving in various supervisory and leadership roles.
In 2018, Linda was diagnosed with CNS Lymphoma, a life-altering challenge that strengthened her commitment to mindful living. Through her recovery and a stem cell transplant, she relied deeply on mindfulness and gratitude practices. Soon after, the pandemic and the loss of her stepson, Dominic, to osteosarcoma in 2021 further deepened her resolve to integrate health and wellness supports for both students and families.
Linda continues to expand her learning through Mindful Schools, SEL Everyday with Meena Srinivasan, and Breathe for Change’s 200-hour Wellness, SEL, and Yoga training. She now facilitates Mental Health First Aid classes and is developing a platform to share her growing body of work in mindfulness, wellness, and social emotional learning.
