Shafiq Aziz
Cohort 3 Alum - 2022-2023

Shafiq Aziz is the Director of Programs for Harmony Movement, a leading organization providing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) training across Canada. With more than 14 years of experience in community organizing and education, he has been a dedicated advocate for equity and social justice in Toronto and beyond.

In his dual roles as program director and high school teacher with the Toronto District School Board, Shafiq works to create dynamic, culturally responsive learning environments that inspire curiosity, empathy, and understanding among students and educators alike.

Through Harmony Movement, he develops and delivers equity-focused training programs for educators and community leaders throughout Ontario, helping institutions cultivate inclusive and compassionate spaces. His work bridges community advocacy and classroom practice, reflecting his belief that education is a powerful tool for both personal and social transformation.

Shafiq’s leadership continues to advance the dialogue on inclusion, belonging, and representation in education, empowering others to take meaningful action toward equity.
